On a Google Pixel running Android 12 or newer, open the scrollable page, press Power and Volume down together, then tap Capture more in the screenshot preview. Drag the crop handles to include the content you need and save, edit, or share the result. The option appears only on supported scrollable screens.
Take a scrolling screenshot on a Pixel
- Open the content. Display the webpage, conversation, document, settings list, or other screen you want to capture. Confirm that it actually scrolls.
- Capture the initial screen. Press Power and Volume down simultaneously, then release. A preview and controls appear along the bottom of the display.
- Choose the extended capture. Tap Capture more in that preview. Google describes this as working on most screens that allow scrolling on devices running Android 12 and up.
- Set the length. Drag the crop guidelines or handles down (or up) until the screenshot includes the required content. You do not have to capture the entire page if only one section is needed.
- Save or use the image. Save the capture, or open the preview to edit and share it. The resulting file is a single tall screenshot rather than several separate images.
If you do not see Capture more, the feature is unavailable for that screen, your phone may be below Android 12, or the page may not expose a system-recognized scrolling surface.
Google’s Pixel Phone Help gives the same Android 12-and-newer qualification and says to tap “Capture more” at the bottom of the screenshot controls (Google Pixel Phone Help, accessed September 29, 2026).
Requirements and limits
Android version
Scrolling screenshots require Android 12 or later according to Google’s Pixel instructions. On an older Pixel software build, the normal shortcut can still create a one-screen image, but the extended-capture control is not expected to appear.

A supported scrolling surface
The screen must be scrollable and recognized by Android’s screenshot system. Google says “most screens that allow you to scroll,” not every app or view. A page can scroll normally and still omit Capture more if the app does not expose the required surface, uses an unusual renderer, or restricts screenshots.
What the feature captures
The Pixel method captures the rendered screen, including what is visible after extending the selection. It is not an export of a webpage’s source or a guarantee that every lazy-loaded image, animation, video frame, or protected area will be included. For very long material, several shorter captures may be easier to read and share.
Where to find, edit, and share the screenshot
Tap the thumbnail that appears after capture to open the image immediately. From the preview you can view it, crop or annotate it with the available editing tools, and share it through another app.
For saved files, open Google Photos, select Collections, choose On this device, and open Screenshots. The scrolling image appears there with your other Pixel screenshots. If you use a different gallery or a managed work profile, its organization may differ, but the Pixel default location is the Google Photos path above.

Sharing a very tall image
Messaging and social apps may resize a long image or display only a preview. If legibility matters, send the original file, share a cloud link, or split the image into logical sections after opening it in an editor. Check the destination app before deleting the local copy.
What to do when “Capture more” is missing
1. Check Android and scrolling
Verify the Pixel is on Android 12 or newer in Settings > System > Software update. Return to the screen and scroll it manually. A static screen, a dialog, or a view that has reached its end may not offer extended capture.
2. Take the screenshot again
The control is shown in the short-lived preview immediately after the button press. Press Power + Volume down again and look along the bottom of the new preview. If you wait too long or dismiss the preview, the control is gone until the next screenshot.
3. Try the app’s own export
Some apps deliberately block screenshots or provide their own “share,” “print,” or “save as PDF” command. Use that built-in option when available; it may preserve text more cleanly than a screen image.

4. Test another scrollable screen
Open a normal webpage or a long system list and repeat the shortcut. If Capture more appears there, the original app or view is the limitation rather than the Pixel.
5. Respect protected content
Banking, streaming, enterprise, and other security-sensitive apps can prevent screenshots. Android may show a blank result, an error, or no capture control. Do not attempt to bypass an app’s protection; use an authorized export or contact its administrator.
Alternative ways to start a screenshot
Gesture navigation
With gesture navigation enabled, swipe up from the bottom and hold to open Overview. Select the app if necessary, tap Screenshot, and then use Capture more when the preview offers it.
Three-button navigation
Open Overview with the navigation bar’s Overview button, select the relevant app, and tap Screenshot. The same extended-capture control appears only when the displayed surface supports it.

Google Assistant
You can say, “Hey Google, take a screenshot.” This starts a regular screenshot; after the preview appears, tap Capture more if the screen supports scrolling capture.
Practical capture tips
- Scroll to the page position where the useful content begins before pressing the buttons; the initial frame determines the top of the extended image.
- Leave enough room for fixed headers or floating controls. A sticky toolbar can be repeated or overlap content as the page extends.
- Use the handles rather than capturing excessive blank space. A shorter file is easier to inspect, upload, and share.
- For a conversation, capture enough context to identify participants and dates, but review the image for private information before sharing.
- Keep the screen awake while you decide the crop. The preview is temporary, and dismissing it requires another capture.

Can I capture an entire webpage on any Pixel?
Only on a Pixel running Android 12 or newer and only where Android exposes a supported scrolling surface. Google qualifies the feature as working on most scrollable screens.
Does scrolling capture make a PDF?
