Neither chip has a proven overall win in the available evidence. NanoReview’s submitted Geekbench 6 averages currently favor Tensor G6, while its AnTuTu 11 average favors Snapdragon 8 Gen 3; the Tensor sample is small, and the page has no Tensor G6 3DMark scores. Google positions Tensor G6 around Pixel AI, camera, and security features, while Qualcomm’s brief documents Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s CPU, graphics, and connectivity capabilities. Treat these as platform comparisons—not a controlled test of two specific phones.

How do the specifications compare?

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Tensor G6 take different approaches. Qualcomm publishes a detailed platform brief for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Google’s product page instead emphasizes what Tensor G6 enables in Pixel 11 phones; some Tensor specifications below come from Android Authority’s reporting, not a full technical table from Google.

Specification Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Google Tensor G6
CPU configuration Eight cores: 1 prime core up to 3.4 GHz, 5 performance cores up to 3.2 GHz, and 2 efficiency cores up to 2.3 GHz, per Qualcomm’s product brief. Reported by Android Authority as 1 Arm C1-Ultra core at 4.11 GHz, 4 Arm C1-Pro cores at 3.38 GHz, and 2 Arm C1-Pro cores at 2.65 GHz.
Graphics Adreno GPU. Qualcomm lists hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, and Vulkan 1.3 support. PowerVR CXTP-48-1536 graphics, as reported by Android Authority.
Manufacturing process 4 nm, according to Qualcomm. 3 nm TSMC process, as reported by Android Authority.
Memory and storage support LPDDR5X up to 4800 MHz and UFS 4.0, according to Qualcomm. Not stated in the cited Google product page or Android Authority report.
Modem and security Snapdragon X75 5G modem-RF system, per Qualcomm. MediaTek M90 modem and Titan M3 security chip, as reported by Android Authority; Google also describes Titan M3 security integration.
AI hardware Qualcomm’s cited brief does not provide a directly comparable Tensor G6-versus-Snapdragon AI result. Google describes a fifth-generation TPU and Pixel features it enables; this is not an independent head-to-head performance result.

These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every phone using a chip exposes every feature. Qualcomm specifically notes that device makers’ implementation affects device capabilities. Check the specifications of the exact handset when a feature—such as supported connectivity, memory, or gaming functions—matters.

Which processor scores higher?

The current NanoReview comparison page reports different leaders depending on the benchmark. The figures below are submitted or aggregated results accessed on October 7, 2026, not results from a controlled test of matching phones.

Benchmark Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Tensor G6 Reported tests (Snapdragon / Tensor) What the listing suggests
AnTuTu 11 total 2,345,563 1,933,536 443 / 4 Snapdragon leads this aggregate, but the Tensor sample is very small.
Geekbench 6 single-core 2,203 2,755 139 / 6 Tensor leads this aggregate; its six-result sample limits confidence.
Geekbench 6 multi-core 6,511 7,563 139 / 6 Tensor leads this aggregate; its six-result sample limits confidence.
Displayed 3DMark tests Scores listed No score listed Not stated The page does not provide a direct aggregate GPU comparison.

Do not compare the raw AnTuTu total with a Geekbench score: they are different tests measuring performance in different ways. Even within one benchmark, a phone’s cooling, software version, power mode, and test duration can affect its result. NanoReview’s live aggregates can also change as results are submitted.

Android Authority reported that its Pixel 11 Pro XL testing showed Tensor G6 gains of about 18% in Geekbench 6 single-core and 21% in multi-core compared with the previous Tensor G5 generation. Those are reported generational gains on that device, not a direct comparison with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone.

Which is better for gaming?

The evidence here does not establish a gaming-performance winner. Qualcomm documents Adreno features including hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, but those platform capabilities do not by themselves show how a particular game performs or whether a handset implements each feature. The cited NanoReview page lists no Tensor G6 results for its displayed 3DMark tests, so it cannot settle the GPU comparison.

For a practical buying decision, compare tests and reviews of the exact phone models you are considering, ideally using the same game, graphics settings, session length, and performance mode. Sustained frame rates and heat over time are more useful for gaming than peak CPU clock speeds or a manufacturing-process figure alone.

Which is better for AI, camera features, and security?

Google presents Tensor G6 as part of the Pixel experience rather than as a general-purpose benchmark winner. Its US Google Store product page says the TPU “drives 120x Pro Zoom, Live Translate for Media, and Proactive Assistance from Gemini Intelligence,” and describes 4K Portrait Video and Titan M3 security integration. Google characterizes the TPU as “50% more powerful”; that is Google’s own product claim and should not be read as a comparison with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

That positioning makes Tensor G6 the more clearly documented option for Pixel-specific features in the sources cited here. It does not prove that Tensor outperforms Snapdragon for every AI task, camera workload, or app: the features depend on the phone and software, and no comparable cross-platform test is provided.

What do the results mean for a phone purchase?

  • Choose by handset, not chip name alone. The comparison data does not match a named Pixel 11 model against a named Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone under the same conditions.
  • For CPU benchmark snapshots, Tensor G6 leads the currently listed Geekbench 6 averages, but only six Tensor tests are shown. Snapdragon leads the listed AnTuTu 11 total with 443 tests versus four for Tensor.
  • For gaming, do not infer a winner from specifications alone. Look for comparable sustained-game or graphics-test results for the actual devices.
  • For Pixel features, Google explicitly ties Tensor G6 to named camera, translation, assistance, and security functions in its Pixel 11 lineup.
  • For connectivity or component support, verify the phone maker’s specifications; a chip-level feature may not be enabled in every device.

The central limitation is the lack of a controlled head-to-head test using comparable retail phones, software builds, thermal conditions, and benchmark runs. The submitted benchmark counts—especially Tensor G6’s—are not enough to turn the current averages into a definitive statement about every phone’s speed.
