To use ElevenLabs with WordPress, choose Audio Native to add a narrated listening player to posts, or an ElevenAgents widget to let visitors talk or chat with an agent. Audio Native is added through a WordPress code-insertion plugin; an agent widget needs both an HTML element on the page and a script loaded site-wide.
Choose the integration that matches your goal

For a downloadable or separately distributed audio file, generate and review narration as an asset instead of adding a player tied to a web page. Add an Audio Native player to WordPress
- Configure Audio Native in ElevenLabs. In the dashboard, set the player’s appearance and permitted page or domain, then copy the embed code generated for your project. Choose a voice and model in Audio Native settings if needed. Do not copy example placeholder identifiers: the embed needs your project’s generated values. Audio Native overview
- Install and open WPCode in WordPress. Create a code snippet and paste in the Audio Native embed supplied by ElevenLabs. The embed includes project and public-user identifiers, a player URL, and a helper script. Audio Native WordPress guide
- Set the insertion options. Choose Auto Insert and set the location to Insert Before Content, following ElevenLabs’ WordPress instructions. Save or activate the snippet, then publish or update the relevant content.
- Check the live post. The official guide says the page may initially show a message that the Audio Native project is being created. After a few minutes, the text is converted to an audio article and the player appears; the guide does not promise an exact processing time. Audio Native WordPress guide
If the Audio Native player does not appear or work
Check that the exact page or its domain is on the Audio Native allowlist. An embed outside the permitted allowlist may not work as intended. Audio Native overview

Add an ElevenAgents widget to WordPress
- Create and configure the agent. In the ElevenLabs dashboard, retrieve the widget embed. The documented element follows this pattern:
<elevenlabs-convai agent-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID"></elevenlabs-convai>, alongside a script loaded from ElevenLabs’ widget package. Use the actual agent ID from your dashboard. - Load the script across the site. The guide documents using the Header Footer Code Manager plugin: place the script in the footer and configure it to run on all pages. Alternatively, add the script before the closing
</body>tag in the active theme’sfooter.php. Theme-file edits can be overwritten by theme updates, so use your theme’s safe customization method if editing theme code. For the standard widget embed, configure the agent as public and disable authentication; in the agent’s Security tab, set the allowed domains. If the agent widget is missing
- Confirm the agent element is present on the page.
- Confirm the widget script is loaded globally.
- Make sure the page has been published or updated.

WordPress.com and self-hosted prerequisites
ElevenLabs’ WordPress guide lists WordPress.com Business or Commerce, or self-hosted WordPress, as prerequisites for its agent-widget instructions. Audio Native also has an API workflow that returns an HTML snippet to embed. It may suit a developer automating player creation rather than configuring each project through the dashboard and WordPress snippet workflow. Audio Native overview
