There is no official Microsoft Tiny11 ISO. To make one for Windows 11 26H2, download the Windows ISO from Microsoft, then use NTDEV’s Tiny11 Builder scripts to create a customized image. Microsoft currently labels 26H2 the Windows 11 2026 Update; its rollout is controlled, so availability can depend on device eligibility and compatibility safeguards.
What you need to download
- A Windows 11 source ISO from Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page, chosen for your device’s architecture.
- The scripts from NTDEV’s Tiny11 Builder repository.
- A Windows PC, an internet connection, and an administrator account to run the builder.
- A separate scratch drive for the builder’s work files. The project’s example uses drive letters without colons.
Microsoft’s page currently labels Windows 11 2026 Update, version 26H2, as the current release. It offers a multi-edition x64 ISO and links separately to Arm64 ISO downloads. The multi-edition ISO uses a product key to unlock the matching edition. The Windows ISO is the source image; Tiny11 Builder is a third-party project that modifies it.
Download the Microsoft Windows 11 26H2 source ISO
- Open Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page.
- Choose the ISO download option for your device architecture. Select x64 for an x64 PC or Arm64 for an Arm-based device; do not assume the two images are interchangeable.
- Download the ISO and note where it is saved. If Microsoft’s page does not offer the expected release or architecture for your device, check the page again later rather than using an unattributed ISO mirror.
Microsoft announced on September 29, 2026 that 26H2 is rolling out to eligible devices running 24H2 and 25H2. The rollout is controlled, and Microsoft may apply safeguard holds when it identifies a compatibility issue. The download page’s current release label does not mean every device is immediately eligible to receive the update through Windows Update.
Choose the right Tiny11 Builder script

These are the project’s descriptions, not a guarantee that every future source ISO behaves identically. The repository describes the builder as using DISM and Microsoft’s oscdimg.exe from the Windows ADK. It also says the image includes an unattended answer file that bypasses Microsoft Account setup and deploys with the /compact flag.

For the regular maker, the repository lists removals including Clipchamp, News, Weather, Xbox, Edge, OneDrive, and other bundled apps. It also notes possible Winget update issues and that some apps may reappear. The changes can affect compatibility and future maintenance; review the project’s documentation and scripts before running them.
Build the Tiny11 ISO
- Download the builder scripts from the NTDEV repository. Inspect the project source and understand what it changes before executing a third-party script with administrator privileges.
- In File Explorer, mount the Windows ISO you downloaded. Windows assigns it a drive letter; note that letter.
- Prepare a separate scratch drive and note its drive letter. The project’s documented example uses a scratch drive letter without a colon.
- Open Windows PowerShell 5.1 as Administrator, change to the folder containing the builder script, and run the regular maker with the ISO and scratch drive letters. The repository’s example form is
script.ps1 -ISO <letter> -SCRATCH <letter>; replace the placeholders with your actual letters and use the script filename you selected. - The project instructions also show
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Processas a process-scoped execution-policy example. Use it only in the context of the project’s documented workflow after reviewing the script; do not run an unknown downloaded script or grant it administrator privileges without understanding it. - When prompted, choose the Windows SKU that matches the edition you intend to use. After the build completes, the repository says the resulting
tiny11.isois in the script folder.
The README claims the scripts can be used with any Windows 11 release, language, or architecture. However, the displayed release history shows a latest listed release dated September 5, 2025, and does not explicitly certify a 26H2 build. The repository provides a workflow; that is not the same as a separately documented 26H2 test or certification.

Use the ISO in a virtual machine or make USB installation media

Microsoft’s guidance on creating Windows installation media also recommends backing up files before installing or reinstalling Windows. Keep a separate backup of files on the PC before changing its operating system.
Check support and compatibility before installing
Tiny11 is a customized Windows image, not a method for making unsupported hardware officially supported. Microsoft warns that installing Windows 11 on a PC below the minimum system requirements is not recommended and may cause compatibility issues; the PC may no longer be supported or entitled to updates. Review the current requirements and the consequences for your device before installing.

Do not rely on unsupported claims about a specific amount of storage saved, lower RAM use, faster performance, or a Tiny11-specific minimum hardware requirement. The project’s component removals and serviceability limits are the concrete tradeoffs documented here; results can vary with the source image and configuration.

Some earlier guides describe 26H2 as a development or preview release. That status is superseded by Microsoft’s September 29, 2026 announcement, which says 26H2 is available to eligible devices, and by Microsoft’s current download page identifying it as the current release. For present status, consult Microsoft’s 2026 Update rollout guidance; the earlier Release Preview announcement describes an earlier stage.
