The vivo T4 Ultra 5G is worth buying in India if you want a real telephoto lens and strong day-to-day performance, and you can accept battery endurance that is adequate rather than class-leading. Its 3x periscope camera is the clearest reason to choose it. Its trade-offs are bright or overexposed highlights in some daylight shots and battery results that do not stand out in its price band. Whether it is a good buy now depends on one thing you must check yourself: the price and stock on the day you shop. When checked, vivo’s own store showed the cheapest configuration as out of stock.
What the phone is
The T4 Ultra is a mid-to-upper-range Android phone built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chip. The table below lists the specifications vivo publishes for the Indian model.

The box includes the phone, a quick-start guide, a USB cable, the charger, an eject tool, a case, a pre-applied protective film and the warranty card. Because a case is included, buying a separate one is optional.

The 3x periscope lens is the phone’s main differentiator. Most phones in this price band rely on digital cropping for mid-range zoom, so a dedicated telephoto sensor gives you more usable framing at 3x. The review evidence supports this as a strength, but it does not show the camera winning every test.

Daylight main camera
In 91mobiles’ 2025 review, the 50 MP main camera produced bright, visually striking daylight images. The same review found that highlights could overexpose and that shadow detail could be lost in high-contrast scenes. If you shoot a lot of bright skies or backlit subjects, expect to use exposure compensation.
Ultrawide camera
The 8 MP ultrawide produced vibrant images in 91mobiles’ testing, but it was also prone to overexposure. Treat it as a secondary lens for landscapes and group shots rather than a primary tool.
Comparison with rivals
91mobiles compared the T4 Ultra with the iQOO Neo 10 and realme GT 7. Its results were trade-offs rather than a clear win in every scene. If the camera is the deciding factor, compare the phones side by side on the subjects you shoot most, such as portraits, zoomed-in wildlife or night scenes.

Performance and heat
Everyday use and gaming
In 91mobiles’ benchmark and gaming tests, the T4 Ultra performed close to the two comparison phones, and the reviewer described daily tasks as snappy. For most buyers, the Dimensity 9300+ delivers performance that is well matched to the screen’s 120 Hz refresh rate.
Sustained heavy load
The caveat is sustained load. On 91mobiles’ Burnout CPU throttling test, the phone scored lower than both comparison phones. That result matters if you play long, demanding sessions or run heavy workloads for extended periods. Casual and moderate gaming is unlikely to expose the difference, but serious gamers should weigh this result.
Battery and charging
The 5,500 mAh battery and 90 W charger give the phone a dependable day with fast top-ups, but the test figures do not place it at the top of its class. The results below come from two reviews. Each used its own conditions, so they are not directly comparable.

In practical terms, a typical to moderately heavy user can expect a full day and some spare time. Heavy gamers should expect the battery to drain noticeably faster than in the streaming test. Charging is the strongest part of the battery story: a full charge in roughly under an hour is fast by any standard.
Software support
vivo has announced three years of Android version updates and four years of security patches for this model. The phone shipped with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15. This is vivo’s stated commitment, not a record of updates already delivered. Since the phone launched in June 2025, check the software update history in the settings menu to see which updates have arrived. Compare the announced horizon with the update promises from rivals before you buy, because support length is one of the few specifications that changes the value of a phone over several years.

At the time of checking, vivo’s India online store showed the 8 GB + 256 GB Meteor Grey variant at ₹35,999 with an MRP of ₹40,999, but it was marked out of stock. Those figures were a single point-in-time observation, and they may have changed. Stock on vivo’s store and on third-party marketplaces can differ, so confirm the price, configuration, seller and availability directly before you buy.

Verdict
The T4 Ultra 5G punches above its weight on the points that matter most in daily use: a genuine telephoto lens, a fast processor, a smooth display and quick charging. It does not lose steam in ordinary use, but it is not a flawless spec sheet either. Its camera exposure, sustained performance and battery results are all good rather than exceptional.

Look elsewhere if your priority is the longest possible battery life or sustained gaming under heavy load. Before you buy, check the following:
- The current price and stock on vivo’s India store and on the marketplace you plan to use.
- Whether newer phones in the same price band have replaced the model, since the reviews are from June 2025.
- Whether the phone you are considering is the 8 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB or 12 GB + 512 GB version, since each sells at a different price.
- How the camera, battery and support terms compare with the iQOO Neo 10 and realme GT 7 at their current prices.
If the 8 GB + 256 GB model is in stock near ₹36,000, the T4 Ultra is a sound choice for buyers who want a zoom camera. If it sells for close to the launch price with no stock, the case for it is weaker, and the rival phones deserve a closer look.
