Install it from the official Chrome or Firefox listing, open the page, activate the extension, wait for the capture tab, and download an image or PDF. Microsoft Edge is also supported according to GoFullPage, but store availability can change, so use the current official listings.
What GoFullPage captures
A normal browser screenshot records only the current viewport. GoFullPage scrolls through the page, captures each section, and combines those sections into a full-page image. This is useful for documenting long articles, reviewing a landing page, preserving a receipt, or sending a developer a visual record of a page without taking many separate screenshots.
The extension is distributed through official browser stores rather than as a random download. GoFullPage’s September 14, 2026 update says the official extension returned to the Chrome Web Store and became available on Firefox. GoFullPage also says it continues to work on Microsoft Edge. Check the live listings before installing because store availability and listing details can change.

Install the extension from an official listing
- Open the official store listing for the browser you are using. Start with the Chrome listing at chromewebstore.google.com or the Firefox listing at addons.mozilla.org. Avoid third-party copies and download pages.
- Choose the browser’s install control, such as Add to Chrome or the equivalent Firefox control, and confirm the browser prompt.
- Pin the extension if you want the camera-style icon visible beside the address bar. In Chromium browsers this is normally done from the extensions menu; the exact menu label can vary by browser release.
- Read the permission prompt before accepting it. GoFullPage’s permissions guide explains that some access is requested only when a particular feature needs it, rather than all permissions being granted in advance.
The Firefox Add-ons listing and GoFullPage’s own update are the best places to verify current availability. A listing that is temporarily unavailable does not justify installing an unverified package from another site.

Take a full-page screenshot
- Navigate to the page you want to preserve. Let the page finish its initial load, and expand any content that must appear in the capture.
- Click the GoFullPage icon in the browser toolbar. In Firefox, you can also press
Alt+Shift+P, as documented on the Firefox Add-ons listing. - Leave the tab active while GoFullPage scrolls and stitches the page. The extension captures each portion in sequence; do not close the tab or navigate away during this process.
- Wait for the result to open in a new tab. GoFullPage describes this tab as the place where you can download the image or PDF, and the Firefox listing also says the result can be dragged to your desktop.
- Use the controls in that result tab to select the output format and save the file. Choose a descriptive filename that includes the page or date if the screenshot will become part of a project record.
Pages that load content as you scroll can change while the extension is working. A capture is therefore a record of what the page rendered during that run, not a guarantee that every later visit will produce identical pixels.
Choose an image or PDF export
PNG or JPG/JPEG for a visual record
Use an image when you need to paste the capture into an issue, design review, or document. The Chrome listing names PNG and JPG; the Firefox listing names PNG/JPEG. PNG is usually preferable for text-heavy pages because it preserves sharp edges without lossy compression. JPG can produce a smaller file when minor compression artifacts are acceptable.

Continuous one-page PDF
If the PDF should remain one uninterrupted tall page, open the extension settings and set PDF Size to full image. This setting is specified in the official GoFullPage FAQ. The resulting page can be extremely tall, so check how your PDF viewer handles zooming and printing before sending it to someone who expects paper pages.
Paginated, paper-size PDF
Choose a paper-size layout when the file will be printed or reviewed page by page. The Chrome listing describes paginated PDFs with paper-size choices, while the Firefox listing describes configurable PDF paper sizes. Exact controls can differ between browser versions and extension settings, so inspect the export panel rather than assuming that one browser’s labels match another’s.

Permissions, local storage, and privacy expectations
GoFullPage’s permissions guide says screenshots are stored locally within the extension. It also explains that permissions used to save files from the extension’s Files page and to scroll and capture content inside iframes are related to the actions that need them. A permission prompt can therefore appear when you save a file or capture a page containing an iframe.
Grant only the access you understand and need, and install through an official listing. The documentation does not establish a universal privacy guarantee for every browser version or every type of page, so treat the browser’s current permission text as authoritative. If you deny a prompt, retrying the specific action after allowing the requested permission is the appropriate recovery path.

Large pages and content that changes while loading
Very long pages consume more browser memory than ordinary screenshots. The Firefox listing identifies a specific edge case: when a page is too large for Chrome to store as one image, GoFullPage notifies you and splits the result into images in separate tabs. Plan to combine those files later if a single artifact is required.
The available product descriptions do not provide a complete list of unsupported pages or promise an identical result for every site. Embedded frames, animations, infinite-scroll feeds, delayed images, and pages that rewrite themselves while scrolling can all affect what appears. For a more stable capture, wait for the visible page to settle, stop interactive elements that keep changing, and capture again if a section was still loading during the first run.

Troubleshooting GoFullPage captures
The GoFullPage icon is missing
- Open the browser’s extensions menu and pin GoFullPage to the toolbar.
- Confirm that the extension is enabled for the current browser profile.
- If you cannot find it in the store, verify the current official listing or the availability notice on gofullpage.com instead of using a third-party installer.
The capture stops or produces only part of the page
- Keep the target tab open and wait for the capture process to finish before switching pages.
- Reload the page, allow its initial content to settle, and run the capture again.
- For an exceptionally large page, expect the Firefox-documented split into separate image tabs when one image exceeds Chrome’s storage capacity.
Images or sections are missing
- Check whether those sections appear only after scrolling, clicking, or dismissing an overlay. Perform the required action before starting the capture.
- Run the capture again after delayed images finish loading. Pages that change during scrolling can yield different results on different runs.
- If the missing material is inside an iframe, read the permission prompt carefully; GoFullPage’s permissions guide identifies iframe scrolling and capture as an action that can require access.
The PDF is split into unexpected pages
- For one continuous page, open extension settings and set PDF Size to full image.
- For printing, choose a paper-size layout and review the page breaks in a PDF viewer before distributing the file.
A permission prompt was denied
Repeat the operation that needs the permission after enabling it in the browser’s extension settings. GoFullPage’s guide says permissions are not necessarily requested until a specific page or action requires them, so a later prompt can be normal.
