Placid’s published 2026 structure has four tiers—Basic (500 monthly credits), Pro (2,500), Business (25,000) and VIP (100,000). Placid’s pricing-page text available for this guide does not show the dollar amounts, so verify the live pricing page and checkout for your country and billing cadence before subscribing. One image costs one credit, 10 seconds of video costs 10 credits, and each PDF page costs two credits. Previews are free, and Placid says generation stops at the credit limit without overage fees.
Placid plans and monthly credits
Placid measures production use in credits rather than separate image, video and PDF quotas. The four plans and allowances listed by Placid are:

The comparison also covers integrations, Studio, Editor SDK, team, compliance and support, but the captured text does not preserve every feature checkmark-to-tier assignment. Confirm a particular feature on the live comparison before choosing a plan.
How Placid credits translate into output
Placid’s stated conversion rules are straightforward:

A 30-second video therefore uses 30 credits, and a 12-page PDF uses 24 credits. If a job combines images, longer videos and multi-page PDFs, add each component’s credits to estimate the month’s total. These calculations do not establish a dollar cost because the current plan prices are not visible in the available pricing text.
Rollover, exhaustion and billing rules
Unused credits
Placid’s pricing FAQ says unused monthly credits can roll over until the account reaches twice the plan’s monthly allowance. For example, a 500-credit tier can hold up to 1,000 credits under that stated policy. Placid’s terms also say credits expire after a month and that rollover may be offered subject to conditions at Placid’s discretion. Treat the FAQ as the practical explanation, then read the current account terms at purchase.
When credits run out
Placid says it sends an email at 80% usage. After the balance is exhausted, new generation is unavailable until you upgrade; previews remain free. The FAQ says there are no overage fees, so an accidental burst should stop rather than create an automatic usage bill.

Trial, upgrades and downgrades
The free trial requires no credit card and includes complimentary credits, but the retrieved page does not state the number. An upgrade adds the new credits immediately with a prorated charge. A downgrade starts with the next billing period. If you cancel, remaining credits stay usable until the paid period ends. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew unless cancelled before renewal; Placid’s terms say it will give prior notice of subscription-price changes affecting an account.
SDK requirements that can change the right plan
Mobile SDK
Placid’s Mobile SDK allowance is separate from the headline credit count. The help documentation lists these licenses:

One license is required for each app and platform. An iOS and Android release therefore needs two licenses. Placid says each license deducts 300 credits monthly, enables unlimited on-device image generation and requires an active Placid subscription. Include those deductions before estimating credits available for server-side renders.
Editor SDK in a SaaS
Placid’s Editor SDK guidance says using the editor inside a SaaS requires VIP. That requirement can outweigh your render volume: a low-volume SaaS cannot simply select Basic because it needs only a few hundred images.

How to choose a tier from your workload
- Count production outputs, not previews. Record images, video seconds and PDF pages expected in a typical month.
- Convert each category. Multiply images by one, video seconds by one credit per second, and PDF pages by two.
- Add SDK deductions. Subtract 300 credits for every Mobile SDK license used that month.
- Allow for peaks. Compare your busiest month with the plan allowance and the stated two-times rollover ceiling; do not assume rollover is guaranteed under every terms condition.
- Check required features. Verify integrations, team controls, compliance, Studio and SDK access on the live comparison because the retrieved checkmarks are incomplete.
- Verify the displayed price. Prices may vary by billing cadence or geography. Check the live pricing page and checkout, and record whether the amount is monthly or annual before comparing services.
For example, 1,200 images (1,200 credits), 40 seconds of video (40 credits) and a 20-page PDF (40 credits) total 1,280 credits before any Mobile SDK deductions. That workload exceeds Basic but fits within Pro’s 2,500-credit allowance if no other usage is counted.
Placid versus Bannerbear: compare workloads, not headline credits
Bannerbear publishes public prices of $49 USD per month for Automate (1,000 API credits), $149 for Scale (10,000) and $299 for Enterprise (50,000); its page also describes a free trial with 30 API credits. Those figures alone do not establish that Bannerbear is cheaper than Placid because the two services count work differently.

Build a representative month containing your actual number of images, requested formats, scale or resolution, PDFs, video or animation, automation and AI operations. Then calculate each vendor’s credits for that same month. A raw “dollars per credit” comparison can reverse once one design needs multiple formats or a larger scale.

Troubleshooting a Placid cost estimate
“My estimate is lower than the actual balance.”
Check video duration, PDF page count and any Mobile SDK licenses. A 60-second video uses 60 credits, and each PDF page uses two. Also check whether multiple formats or repeated renders are being generated by your integration.
“Generation stopped even though I expected rollover.”
Confirm the account’s current terms and rollover balance. The FAQ describes a two-times cap, while the terms reserve discretion and state that credits expire after a month. Rollover is not an unlimited reserve.
