If a gate, cabin, farm, trailer or job site has no dependable Wi-Fi, a 4G LTE security camera can provide remote alerts and viewing—as long as cellular service works at the mounting point. The camera still needs a SIM and data plan, and frequent live viewing can add meaningful monthly data use. Compare the service and storage costs with the camera price before deciding which option is genuinely low-cost.
What a 4G LTE camera does—and what it still needs
A cellular camera connects to a mobile network instead of relying on local Wi-Fi. Reolink describes its Go Plus as using 3G/4G LTE without Wi-Fi, while TP-Link says its Tapo TC90G requires a 4G SIM. That solves the network problem only where the chosen camera can connect to a compatible carrier and LTE bands. Check service at the exact installation spot, not just the property address or a nearby town. Reolink Go Plus specifications; TP-Link Australia Tapo TC90G KIT specifications.
Cellular connectivity is not free connectivity. Reolink’s US product listing says its Go Plus package includes a SIM and 100 MB of initial data, after which the owner chooses a plan. TP-Link says the TC90G needs a SIM, which is not included. SIM terms and service availability can vary by region, so confirm the current offer and whether the camera is compatible with your intended carrier before buying. 1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat does a low-cost camera really cost?
The sticker price is only one part of the cost. Add the camera, a compatible SIM or data plan, any solar panel or mount not included, local storage if needed, and optional cloud fees. For a remote camera, recurring cellular service and viewing habits can matter as much as the purchase price.

A 30-day cloud storage trial is also included.
- 【Solar Powered & True Wireless】Our 4G lte security camera achieves true wireless connectivity, totally cordless. With a built-in large capacity battery and a 6W solar panel, the camera keeps working as long as there is sunlight. The camera must be fully charged using the power cable for the initial charge before powering on; thereafter, the solar panel may be used for long-term power.
- 【2K Color Night Vision & 360° View】Via the Ubox App, this cellular camera offers 2K high resolution with 4X digital zoom. The wide-angle lens supports both horizontal and vertical rotation, providing a broader and more flexible viewing angle. Even in the dark, the full-color night vision allows you to keep an eye on your assets at all times. (The spotlight needs to be manually enabled in the App.)

(You can set the sensitivity of this function in the Ubox app) The built-in two-way talk function allows you to communicate through the camera anytime, anywhere.
- Camera and power: Check whether the quoted kit includes a solar panel and whether battery-only operation fits the expected monitoring activity and site conditions.
- Cellular plan: Find out the monthly cost, data allowance, how overages or throttling work, and whether the camera requires a specific SIM.
- Storage: Confirm whether local recording is supported, the card capacity limit, and whether the card is included. Check whether cloud features carry a separate fee.
- Coverage and view: Make sure the camera’s LTE bands match the carrier at the mounting location, and decide whether a fixed view covers the area or pan/tilt is useful.
As a rough price reference, SecurityCamLab’s 2026 comparison estimated the Reolink Go Plus at around $120 and described it as a low-cost fixed-view option. That is a third-party estimate, not a guaranteed current price; region, shipping, promotions and checkout totals can differ. SecurityCamLab’s 2026 cellular-camera comparison.
How much data can remote viewing use?
Live video is the main reason a small starter allowance may not last. TP-Link estimates that one hour of 2K live viewing on its TC90G uses about 337 MB without cloud storage or 515 MB with cloud storage. Those are TP-Link’s estimates for that model and configuration, not a universal rate for LTE cameras; actual use depends on the camera and how it is configured. - Forever Power: Empower your viewing to go anywhere you desire. Enjoy off-the-grid freedom with the upgraded solar panel and a powerful 9,400 mAh battery.
- Seamless Connectivity with 4G and Wi-Fi: The Dual-Mode technology of eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 Ultimates security with uninterrupted access compared to traditional cellular no wifi cameras. If Wi-Fi signal is lost, the auto-switching 4G feature swaps to mobile data. Guaranteeing continuous use.
- Works with EIOTCLUB to Automatically Switch to the Strongest Network:eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 includes an EIOTCLUB SIM card, which is compatible with the three major U.S. networks: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. For consistent, reliable coverage, we recommend using the provided EIOTCLUB SIM, which supports cross-network roaming to connect to the strongest signal automatically. If you prefer using SIMs from AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, please ensure they are data-only plans.
- 4K in Color, Day and Night: The color 4K camera gives you the clarity to identify a license plate 30 feet (10 meters) away. Shine a light on your surroundings with the 100-lumen spotlight to continue seeing colorful details up to 26 feet (8 meters) away, all through the night.
- 360° Viewing with AI Tracking:All-around viewing with pan and tilt. AI detects and tracks people, and vehicles, with an extensive range of motion.
To keep data use and cost predictable, estimate how often you will open live video, whether other household members will view it, and whether cloud recording is necessary. Motion alerts and local recording can serve different needs from continuous remote viewing, but they do not eliminate the cellular data required for remote features. Check the camera’s own usage information and your carrier’s plan terms.

How to choose for your site
- Check cellular coverage and bands at the mounting point. Confirm the carrier has usable LTE signal where the camera will sit and that the camera supports the carrier’s bands.
- Choose the field of view. A fixed camera can suit a gate or one approach; a pan/tilt model may help cover a broader area. Resolution alone does not guarantee useful identification at a particular distance.
- Decide how it will be powered. Compare battery and solar configurations, and assess whether the panel will receive enough sunlight. Shade, weather and the amount of monitoring activity affect practical performance; solar does not guarantee maintenance-free operation.
- Set a realistic data budget. Estimate live-view frequency and cloud use, then compare the camera’s stated data information with available carrier plans.
- Calculate the installed total. Include the camera, SIM/data service, solar equipment, mount, storage card and any cloud service you intend to use. Recheck local prices and package contents at checkout.
When a cellular camera is—and is not—a good fit
A 4G LTE camera is a practical candidate when Wi-Fi or a network cable cannot reach the location, there is compatible cellular coverage, and the owner accepts an ongoing data cost. It is a weaker fit when the site has poor cellular reception, service is unavailable or too expensive, or frequent high-resolution live viewing would exceed the available data budget. Battery and solar options reduce wiring needs, but the right choice depends on the site’s sunlight, monitoring pattern and storage needs.
